They say the kitchen is the heart of a home – for us it’s our kitchen table is the heart of our business.

It’s where we share ideas, read the paper, meet for soup club and share lunch on Foodcourt Friday’s. It’s where we meet for training courses and strategy days, and is a place for guest speakers and workshops.

When Allan Tranter and Donna Shepherd were expanding Creating Communities in the early 2000s, they did so at Donna’s kitchen table, marking the very first meeting place for the team, which unbeknown at the time, would hold a strong legacy 30 years on.

So here is our ode to our favourite piece of furniture, which acts as a structure for our community to gather and continues to bring everyone together.

In our 30 years, we’ve hosted thousands of events that encourage connection, networking and vibrancy in communities. From ABBA Tribute bands to blue tree painting for mental health, community events aren’t just for the community, but our team get to have a lot of fun bringing them to life....
