FIFO life and wellbeing

Creating Communities has been quietly building what we believe to be the world’s largest repository on Fly In Fly Out (FIFO) workers’ quality of life. Our data is supporting improved outcomes for workers in leading resources companies in Western Australia.

In 2021, we worked on several fronts to help our clients ensure their FIFO villages support improved mental, social and physical health including:

  • Assessment of the needs of residents across one company’s Pilbara FIFO villages.
  • A comprehensive annual review of the FIFO villages to gain an in-depth understanding of the needs of its village residents using surveys, observation tools and interviews with village residents and staff.
  • Supporting the development of community, culture and engagement plans for FIFO villages.

The resources industry is a key part of generating wealth and jobs for the Western Australian community, and Creating Communities is proud to play a leading role in ensuring continual improvements in the experience of people who work in the sector.
