Harmony Day Celebration Brings Culture, Community & Connection to Brabham!

On Friday, March 21st, Maarakool Primary School, in partnership with Brabham’s vibrant community groups and organisations, hosted a spectacular Harmony Day Celebration.

Creating Communities, on behalf of PEET, was proud to support the delivery of this meaningful event. With a kaleidoscope of colour, sound, and culture, the celebration brought together over 400 attendees to honour the diversity that makes Brabham so special!

As part of our commitment to building stronger, more connected communities, we worked alongside local partners to ensure the event not only celebrated multiculturalism, but also deepened relationships and fostered a shared sense of belonging across the Brabham community.

A Stage Full of Energy & Culture
The crowd was entertained by interactive performances, including the Maarakool Primary School Choir, Brabham Gujarati Club’s vibrant dance, Lilly Gogos Band’s Indigenous music, the rhythmic beats of Taiko Japanese Drumming, the talented Cook Island Dance Group, and high-energy Bhangra Dancers. Each act brought its own unique energy, turning the event into a true multicultural spectacle!

Hands-On Cultural Experiences
Beyond the performances, guests immersed themselves in interactive activities, from beautiful henna tattoos by Henna Florals to bubbles and face painting by Freedom Fairies. Brabham Gujarati Club’s traditional tea-making and The Sister Project’s cooking incursion with school children added to the authentic cultural experiences. Befriend’s tote bag decorating station was a hit, allowing attendees to express their creativity while celebrating community spirit. Community groups such as Midvale Parent Hub engaged families with their colourful art activity, and the Kingz Multicultural Club showcased their culture with a turban making activity.

Of course, no celebration is complete without food. Guests enjoyed delicious flavours from around the world, with Indian Ice Cream, Greek cuisine, and Vietnamese fusion from Chew Chew bringing people together over shared plates and stories!

The event was expertly MC’d by Kingz Multicultural Club President, Arshad Khan, alongside Maarakool Primary School Principal, Anika Blackmore, who both championed the spirit of unity and inclusion.

Creating Communities is proud to play a role in building moments like these—where strategic engagement, collaboration, and storytelling come together to create genuine social value. This Harmony Day celebration was made possible through the generous support of Peet and the Brabham Estate, City of Swan, and Swan Community for Children. And of course, thank you to all the incredible performers, community groups, and families who came together to make it a day to remember.
