NAIDOC Week is about celebrating Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and one of the oldest continuing living cultures on Earth.
We work with incredible Aboriginal people all over Australia, including Traditional Owners, Elders and young people who bring so much to their communities.
In 2026, we were privileged to be a part of some very special NAIDOC Week celebrations in WA.

Talking about the future of Country in Moora
Our CEO, Chris Cottier, and Founder, Allan Tranter were invited to take part in Yued Aboriginal Corporation’s NAIDOC Week celebration in Moora.
People of all ages came together to honour the rich Aboriginal culture Moora is built on. Festivities kicked off at Moora Oval, with live music, dancers, bouncy castles and loads of family-friendly fun.
Chris and Allan spent the day speaking with locals about their vision for Country, and the future they want for Yued people. These insights will inform the Yued Land Strategy, so it takes in what genuinely matters to the community.
“So many of the people we talked to had a great story about the goal they kicked on the oval we were on, or the mark they had taken,” Chris said.
“That story then morphed into conversations about how important family was and how important culture was to the community.”
Chris said the realities of the past were an important part of many conversations.

“You could see that there was a focus in terms of the past,” he said.
“But also, let’s build on that and create opportunities for our children.”
What people shared over the day will make the Land Strategy a greater reflection of what Yued people want for their future.
“I felt really privileged to be invited and to be a part of it,” Chris said.
Young people make music in Newman and Jigalong
Young people from Newman and Jigalong came together for a five-day program inspired by this year’s NAIDOC Week theme: The Next Generation: Strength, Vision and Legacy.
Newman Women’s Shelter organised the program, which included community workshops, wellbeing sessions and a culture and sports day.
Young people worked with Aboriginal artists BARKAA and Dallas Woods to create an original song titled ‘All my mob are with me’.
A music video was made by the talented team at Grand Trine Creative starring BARKAA and the young people of Newman and Jigalong rapping and dancing together.

The video was then shared at Next Gen Festival, the concert finale on Boomerang Oval, where BARKAA and the kids performed live on stage. Check out the music video here.
Our Senior Social Value and Impact Consultant, Alex Kohlen, was on the ground over the week, supporting Newman Women’s Shelter and working with the documentary team, SJ Studios and Serene Bedlam Photography.
Celebrating Aboriginal culture in Brabham
More than 300 people celebrated NAIDOC Week at Honeycomb Park in Brabham.
Karlup Aboriginal Corporation hosted the celebration, with support from the City of Swan and Peet.
The day began with a Welcome to Country and a Smoking Ceremony. Then, live performances, community stalls, bush tucker tastings and plenty of fun activities for the kids.
Twenty Aboriginal businesses, organisations and performers took part in the celebration, which has become a much-loved event for Brabham locals, and everyone in the community.
Our team supported Karlup Aboriginal Corporation, the City of Swan and Peet to make the event happen.

The best of community
Across all of these events, we saw people showing up and sharing knowledge. People spoke about building the future they want for their kids and made incredible art together.
Aboriginal people celebrated their culture and welcomed other people in the community to celebrate it with them.
These celebrations showed us the best of community, and we were lucky to be there to see it.
