Project | Film Documentary - Ngulla Community Nursery |
Client | Ngulla Community Nursery Steering Committee, comprising project partners Bridging the Gap, Peet Limited, Department of Housing and Works, Challenger TAFE, Medina Aboriginal Cultural Community, the Town of Kwinana and BHP Billiton. |
Opportunity | The Ngulla Community Nursery Steering Committee was interested in recording the story and history of the establishment of the nursery project for promotional and archival purposes. The project partners considered it important to capture on film the vision and innovation of the project and to demonstrate how the project can be a blue print for public-private partnerships, youth training and community enterprise. |
Strategy | Creating Communities was contracted to project manage and produce two 25-minute documentaries to be aired on community television in 2007. Creating Communities has produced the programs with Access31 Television. |
Outcome | The documentary is now airing on Access 31 and has generated much interest. In November 2008, the Ngulla Community Nursery project was awarded the Australian and New Zealand Not-for-Profit Network Award for Partnership of the Year. |
