Challenge | To help women to evolve into community and national leadership roles by teaching them skills and increasing their capacity to mentor. Also to establish a national support structure for women in leadership by: - Running a pilot program of workshops and practice regimes;
- Developing a system and structure in which women with existing capacity can mentor and support emerging leaders;
- Working in partnership with Solomon Islands government, non-governmental organisations and RAMSI.

Our Role | We have been involved in this project since October 2008:
- Co-designing the mentoring program;
- Co-facilitating workshops in the Solomon Islands with women from the public service, NGOs and community groups;
- Co-designing strategies and structures for ongoing support network development;
- Stakeholder engagement and facilitating stakeholder workshops;
- Assisting in developing capacity of local staff in program coordination.

Outcome | The project is ongoing, and initial training workshops have been enthusiastically received.
